Kari Ward
Leader – Mercy & Prayer Teams
Kari Ward leads the Prayer and Mercy Teams at the River. She and her family have been with the River since the doors opened in 2009 and they are blessed to have the River as a family. Kari graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in Biology. She started her Masters in Sports Medicine, but currently doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up! She served 8 1/2 years active duty as a Navigator on the KC-135. She has been serving the last 9 years as a Admissions Liaison Officer for the Air Force Reserves. Kari married the love of her life, Joe, in 1999, and they have four wonderful children who are now contracting her as a full-time employee; and if she is paying attention, learns a lesson from God through her kids almost daily. The Wards lived in Japan for four years where they all grew to love the culture and Japanese people. One of Kari’s passions is to meet and practice her rusty language skills with anyone who will speak Japanese with her. Since the Wards moved to Colorado in 2007, they have loved enjoying the splendors of God’s country. Kari enjoys camping, hiking, running, swimming, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, cooking, playing guitar and singing.
K Kari was recently invited to join the Board of Directors for a new Colorado Non-Profit called, Own Your Own Health, OYOH, helping inspire and encourage people to be proactive in their health and healthcare. Kari would say she is extremely blessed for where God has her right now and what He is doing in her life. She is grateful for her family, her church family the River and the people in that God put’s in her life daily.
